Arriving in Tanh Linh

One of the staff members picked me up at the bus station and took me to my hotel, which had already been arranged for me. I then had some time until the afternoon to explore the neighborhood a little and get settled before heading to the office.

The office in Tanh Linh is still quite new, as the team only moved there about 6 months ago. In total, seven staff members are working at this location.

In the evening, I went for a walk to get a better impression of the town. It is quite small, but surrounded by beautiful mountains, which makes the scenery really nice.

I especially enjoy the weather here. In the evenings, it gets a bit windy and the temperature drops to around 22°C, which feels much more comfortable compared to Phan Thiet, where it stayed around 28°C even at night. During the day, it is still very hot (around 32–36°C), but the office has several fans, so it is manageable.

Yesterday’s field visits included meeting several families supported by the Thien Chi Center and learning more about their different living situations. From health challenges to income generation, the visits showed both the difficulties many families face and the different ways support is provided.
