The family of Mr. Vũ and Ms. Linh, residing in Đức Linh, Bình Thuận, is in a very difficult situation. The place where the seven-member family currently lives is land granted by the government, with a house built by a temple.
Ms. Linh suffers from brain atrophy and frequently has headaches. The family has five children, the eldest son had to drop out of school to stay home and take care of his siblings. The couple does not own any land; they rent a rubber plantation in Suối Kiết, Tánh Linh, 50km away from home, to work at night to earn daily food. Every day, they travel together on an old motorbike with a cracked fuel tank, requiring multiple refuels to run.
The Thiện Chí Center recognizes the family's strenuous life.
Upon visiting the house and seeing the children in their pitiful state, we felt even more compassion. To help increase their income, we discussed with the family and secured funding to build a pigsty and provided three pigs (from the project's pig bank) to the family.
Since the couple is not at home, the eldest son was given thorough guidance by Thiện Chí on how to care for the pigs. With this, the boy and his siblings have something to do at home, preventing them from wandering around and instilling a sense of responsibility in their lives. We continue to visit the children and the pigs weekly. We hope the pigs will stay healthy and grow quickly!!!!
