About Thien Chi Center for Community Support and Development

Thien Chi (ie “ Good Will ”) is a Vietnamese non-profit non-governmental organization for training and social development. It was established in 2004 and was registered by VUSTA (Vietnam Union of Scientific and Technology Association) in 2005. Today, Thien Chi operates in 3 districts; Duc Linh , Tanh Linh and Ham Thuan Nam , in the Binh Thuan province in southern Vietnam .

While Vietnam has made great progress to reduce poverty there is still about 5% of the population in our 3 districts of Binh Thuan province (according to 2016 Government survey statistics) who live in extreme poverty. Thanks to Thien Chi projetcs, extreme poverty has been reduced by 75%. We have focused on basic needs such as microcredit, education (provide scholarships and many activities in schools), women rights, health and employment creation to improve the lives of poor people in these locations.

Education is always the shortest path to changing one’s life, yet for many poor families, this path is full of obstacles. When their children enter colleges or universities, joy is often accompanied by worry, as tuition fees, living expenses, books, and other costs become a heavy burden for families with unstable incomes.

A JOURNEY TOWARD NORMAL STEPS FOR LITTLE TRAN

The grandparents are elderly. Tran’s grandfather suffered a stroke, while her grandmother has hemorrhoids and poor health, yet she still struggles to take care of him. In such circumstances, Tran and her sibling have had to take care of themselves most of the time, from daily meals to everyday activities. Prolonged deprivation has left Tran physically weak with low immunity. She often falls, even from very minor bumps.

Raising Awareness of Respiratory Health and Environmental Protection for Preschool Children

In December 2025, Thien Chi Center collaborated with Ham Kiem Kindergarten to organize a series of activities aimed at raising awareness of respiratory health and environmental protection for preschool children. The program focused on simple and age-appropriate topics closely related to children’s daily lives, such as the harmful effects of tobacco smoke on the lungs and the important role of green trees in protecting human health and the living environment.
