Community’s Health program

In addition to providing loan support for people to develop their economy, Thien Chi also carries out programs to improve community awareness through training: - Against domestic violence and for gender equality (700 beneficiaries per year) - Signs of recognition and ways to protect yourself from common human diseases (1,200 beneficiaries per year) - Environmental knowledge and raising awareness of environmental protection (300 beneficiaries per year)

Employment Creation

The program creates conditions for 44 unemployed poor people to get jobs, helps train skills in the fields of blankets, rattan, and bamboo goods. It provides a new source of income to poor households who are often jobless.

Scholarship

At the beginning of each school year, Thien Chi coordinates with local authorities and schools to support scholarships. More than 1,000 students from 135 schools benefit from Thien Chi's help. Scholarship recipients are children of poor households who are eager to learn and want to change their future. The scholarships partly help them have more motivation to continue their educational path.

Health issues are one of the main causes of poverty, and many poor families cannot afford a medical exam. They only go to the hospital when their diseases are serious and treatment costs are very high. They have to borrow money from relatives, or from money lenders with high interest rates. The Thien Chi programs for communities health aim to spread awareness about a variety of health subjects, such as domestic violence, common diseases or environmental protection. They consist of trainings delivered by professors in the health field.

To give more employment opportunities for those living in extreme poverty in the Binh Thuan province, Thien Chi has successfully introduced and implemented local workshops. They provide ongoing, sustainable employment and offer specialized skills to local workers.
