Ms. Nguyen Thi Cam Thu, always striving to overcome hardships in a disadvantaged household

The family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Cam Thu is going through difficulties. After her husband passed away, she is raising her daughter and taking care of her two grandchildren on her own. Their house is small and old, prone to flooding during rain and unbearable heat in the summer.

Cam Thu makes a living by selling small groceries. Her income is inconsistent, averaging 130,000 Vietnamese dong per day, which is enough to buy food for the family. Her daughter takes care of the family's wheat field, but the income after deducting expenses is not high. Additionally, Cam Thu does occasionally hire work, but it's not stable. The average monthly income for the family is 877,000 dong. Currently, Cam Thu is borrowing money from the Charity Center to take care of the wheat field and the grocery business.

A month ago, while participating in traffic, Cam Thu had an accident and fractured both bones in her right ankle. The treatment and recovery medication costs up to 20,000,000 VND. With no money available, she had to borrow from relatives and friends to cover the expenses. Her daughter cannot work because she needs to take care of her mother, making their life even more difficult. They have to visit the hospital for follow-up appointments every month.

Continuing treatment for Cam Thu is challenging considering their current circumstances. The Charity Center has provided partial financial assistance for medical expenses to alleviate her burden. They hope that this amount of money will help her recover her health, continue her business, and earn additional income to support their daily life.
