The family of Bùi Tá Tấn, living in Hamlet 1, Gia An Commune, consists of four members: his mother and two older brothers. Born in 2006, Tấn is currently a second-year student at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology.
His father passed away when he was young. His mother, Ms. Ngô Thị Yến, is the sole breadwinner, raising and caring for the entire family. She works as a hired laborer in brick kilns, earning about 8 USD per day. Due to high living expenses, their life is always in hardship.
The eldest brother works as a hired laborer to help the family. The second brother was once a university student but unfortunately developed a mental illness, had to leave school, and is now undergoing treatment at home.
Currently, Tấn’s annual tuition fee is about 1,200 USD, excluding other living and study expenses. In the 2024 academic year, the family had to borrow 1,200 USD from the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies to pay for his first-year tuition. However, there is still no stable financial source for the following years.
To be able to complete his university program, Tấn urgently needs financial support of 1,800 USD for the remaining three years to cover tuition fees and part of his study costs. He commits to using the funds for the right purpose and studying diligently.
Tấn and his family are deeply grateful for the care and assistance of benefactors, as well as the support from Thiện Chí Center, for giving him the opportunity to continue his education.
