Nguyen Ngoc Tien is currently a 4th grade student at Muong Man Primary School. Family of 3 people. Tien's mother left home when Tien was 3 years old, so he lived with his grandfather and uncle. When he was young, uncle Tien had a car accident and had one of his legs amputated. The house has 200 dragon fruit pillars, but there is no investment capital or water for irrigation, so they were abandoned and no longer taken care of.
Every day, uncle Tien sells lottery tickets, earning 100,000 - 200,000 VND/day, just enough to cover the family's living expenses. My grandfather is old and often sick, so he only occasionally works for dragon fruits. Because his family was in difficulty, he had no money for Tien to stay as a boarding house. His clothes and books were all old things given to him by neighbors.
