We would like to share the story of Đặng Hà Quỳnh Anh, an outstanding student who has excelled throughout her five years of primary school and is now preparing to enter the 6th grade. However, her path to education is filled with challenges and obstacles, as she is an orphan living with her grandmother, Mrs. Huỳnh Thị Hiền, in Phước Thiện 2 village, Phước Sơn, Ninh Phước.
Quỳnh Anh's mother tragically passed away from liver cancer during the Covid pandemic. Just as the family was coming to terms with this loss after three years of mourning, her father also passed away in an accident. Facing many difficulties, Quỳnh Anh moved in with her maternal grandmother after her mother's death. Despite these hardships, Quỳnh Anh remains resilient and dedicated to her studies.
Currently, Quỳnh Anh receives an orphan allowance of 500,000 VND per month. She lives with her grandmother, aunts, uncles, and cousins—a total of 11 people crowded together in a small house of about 60 square meters. Her grandmother, now elderly and grieving the loss of her daughter and son-in-law, is in poor health and stays at home to care for the grandchildren. The family's monthly income comes from small contributions from each of her children and from cultivating a 2,000-square-meter rice field to provide food. After school, Quỳnh Anh helps her aunt take care of her younger cousins.
With the new school year approaching, worries about tuition fees, books, uniforms, insurance, and other expenses weigh heavily on her grandmother's mind. We hope to support Quỳnh Anh with a scholarship of 300,000 VND per month to help her continue her education and reduce the financial burden on her family.
