Nguyen Thai Duong, a 6th-grade student, comes from a near-poor family living in a small house in the Lạc Tín – Lạc Tánh neighborhood. Both of Dương parents are congenitally deaf and have difficulty speaking. His mother receives a state subsidy of 540,000 VND per month.
The main source of income for the family comes from cultivating 0,2 hectares of rice fields for subsistence and harvesting cashews on a 1-hectare hillside, earning 19 million VND per year. Some years, the cashew harvest is insufficient to cover the cost of fertilizers. Currently, the family's income is 734,000 VND per person per month. Dương's older brother is studying Law at university and also requires financial support.
Moreover, Dương is battling chronic liver disease, which requires ongoing treatment and monthly medication expenses. The family's financial situation becomes even more challenging as they must cover all of Dương and his brother's education expenses.
Given the family's difficult circumstances and the diligent study spirit of the two brothers, Thiện Chí earnestly appeals for charitable support to provide Dương with a monthly scholarship of 300,000 VND to help him overcome the current difficulties.
