Medical support #27: Nguyễn Thị Thương Nhớ (NS)

Little Nhớ was born into the loving arms of her parents, but fate did not smile upon her. From birth, she was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and hydrocephalus, preventing her tiny body from sitting up or walking like other children. Even more heartbreaking, before she could fully feel the warmth of her father, he passed away before she turned one.

Since losing her husband, Nhớ’s mother, Lợi, has become the sole support for her two children. Their small family lives in a modest 12m² wooden house on reclaimed land in Phú Thuận Hamlet, Mỹ Sơn Commune—over 20 km from the commune center, without electricity, water, or phone signal.

Despite the hardships, her mother always holds her close and says: “As long as you can walk, I will do everything.”

She firmly believes that with proper physical therapy, Nhớ could have the chance to walk on her own. However, given their current difficult living conditions, that dream remains far out of reach.

We hope to join hands with generous donors to help Nhớ turn her dream into reality. The total cost needed for one year is 49,550,000 VND, covering:

-Food expenses so that Nhớ’s mother can focus on her therapy: 25,550,000 VND (70,000 VND/day × 365 days)

-Transportation costs for weekly trips to the project office for check-ups and new exercises: 4,800,000 VND (100,000 VND/trip × 48 weeks)

-Medicine and supplements to support her recovery: 19,200,000 VND (1,600,000 VND/month × 12 months)

Nhớ’s journey ahead is still long, but with her mother’s love and the support of the community, she will have the chance to stand up, run, and play like other children.
