Medical support #33: Hồ Văn Xem

The simple peace of Mr. Văn Xem (b. 1987) and Ms. Trần Thị Hiệp (b. 1981)'s family in Lập Sơn – Tân Lập village was tragically disrupted on November 25, 2025. Mr. Xem, the family's main pillar, suffered a devastating fall from scaffolding while working as a bricklayer, resulting in a severe spinal fracture and 3 broken ribs. He is currently receiving treatment at the Lâm Đồng Provincial General Hospital. However, due to the severity of his injuries, doctors urgently require his transfer to a hospital in Ho Chi Minh City for specialized surgery and intensive care.

The family's situation is extremely difficult: they are classified as a near-poor household, residing in a small Grade 4 house built with the support of local authorities and Thien Chi Center. Their only income is derived from Mr. Xem's inconsistent bricklaying wages and Ms. Hiệp's hired work trimming dragon fruit ears.

The hardship is compounded by their young daughter, Văn Thị Mỹ Linh (b. 2016), who was born with a developmental disability. Despite studying for many years, she remains in Grade 1 due to her slow comprehension.

At the time of the accident, Ms. Hiệp had only a meager 120,000 VND in the house. Although Mr. Xem holds health insurance as a near-poor household member, the family completely lacks the funds to cover the emergency ambulance transfer and necessary expenses not covered by the insurance policy. Any delay in transfer poses a direct threat to Mr. Xem's chances of recovery.

Thien Chi Center sincerely hopes the community will join hands to light a beacon of hope for this struggling family. We urgently appeal for support of 10,000,000 VND (Ten Million Vietnamese Dong) to cover the emergency transfer costs and essential initial treatment expenses.
