The family consists of five members, including two parents and three children, currently living in a small 50 m² level-4 house in Phu Sum Hamlet, Tuyen Quang Commune, Lam Dong Province. The main sources of income are daily labor and 600 dragon fruit poles; however, unstable prices make it insufficient to cover living expenses.
The eldest son completed grade 12 and previously worked at a durian warehouse with an income of approximately VND 4,000,000 per month, but is currently unemployed due to the off-season. The daughter is studying early childhood education and working at a childcare center; additional work only provides enough income for personal expenses. The parents are currently raising the youngest child, who is in grade 2.
In June 2025, serious illness occurred, including shingles and a right-thigh abscess, requiring surgery and two hospitalizations at Thong Nhat Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City. Total medical expenses were approximately VND 90,000,000. The family received VND 20,000,000 in donations; the remaining amount was borrowed.
At present, the patient is unable to work and must attend weekly follow-up visits costing about VND 3,000,000 per visit. The family currently owes VND 300,000,000 in bank loans and VND 100,000,000 borrowed from relatives and neighbors. The wife has had to stop working to provide care, resulting in unstable income. The family is currently facing severe financial hardship.
