The Efforts of Ms. Trí’s Family to Overcome Hardship

Ms. Nguyễn Thị Trí’s family resides in Đức Linh district. Previously classified as a near-poor household with financial difficulties, they joined a microloan program in March 2022. The family consists of four members: the couple and their two school-aged children. Without any farmland of their own, they had to rent land to grow corn and lived in a temporary shelter next to her mother-in-law's house in Hamlet 1A. Aside from working on the rented fields, both husband and wife would take on any hired work they could find, but the jobs were unstable, resulting in an average income of only 875,000 VND per person per month.

Upon joining the loan program, the family not only received financial support but also technical training through workshops on farming and animal husbandry. They used the loan to invest in fertilizers and pesticides for their corn crops, which led to higher yields. By April 2024, when the mother-in-law reclaimed her land, the couple had to take a bank loan to build a house in Hamlet 5, where they could also raise livestock. They boldly invested in building a pen to raise goats for additional income. However, after two batches, goat prices dropped, reducing profits. The family then switched to raising chickens and ducks.

Thanks to their hard work and the poultry training they received, they applied practical methods such as vaccinating on schedule, which helped reduce chicken mortality. They also lowered feed costs by collecting bananas to mix into the feed. As a result, in three rounds of raising 300 chickens, the family earned a profit each time.

Through their persistent efforts, eagerness to learn, and the support of Thiện Chí’s loan program, the family used the funds effectively. Their productivity improved, and they supplemented their income through the husband’s hired work. Their eldest son joined the military service, while the younger son, after finishing 9th grade, left school due to academic challenges and began helping his mother with garment outsourcing and chicken raising. The family's income has since become stable, reaching 1,600,000 VND per person per month.

Today, they have a stable home, two sewing machines, a new motorbike, and improved poultry farming skills. The family is very happy and always thankful to Thiện Chí for providing both financial and technical support, which helped them improve their livelihood and achieve their current stability.

Detecting refractive errors in primary school students plays a vital role in protecting and developing children's vision. At this age, their eyes are still in the process of maturing. If refractive errors such as myopia (nearsightedness) or astigmatism are not identified and corrected in time, they may lead to serious consequences like permanent vision loss, which can significantly affect a child’s learning ability and overall development. Early detection allows timely intervention through appropriate eyewear or vision training, helping children study more effectively and improving their quality of life.
