COMMUNITY HEALTH TRAINING IN THE DIGITAL AGE – WHEN KNOWLEDGE NEEDS TO GO HAND IN HAND WITH SUPPORT

Today, with just a smartphone, people can easily access thousands of sources of health-related information. However, alongside useful knowledge, there is also a large amount of unverified and even misleading information that can cause confusion and make it difficult for families to choose the right healthcare practices. Therefore, community health training programs continue to play a vital role, not only in providing reliable knowledge but also in helping people learn how to access, evaluate, and apply information correctly.

In today’s context, community health training is no longer limited to one-way lectures. Instead, it encourages interaction, discussion, and practical problem-solving based on real-life situations. These training sessions create opportunities for people to ask questions, compare online information with scientific evidence, and learn from the practical experience of healthcare professionals, enabling them to take better care of themselves and their families.

Guided by the principle of “working with the people, alongside the people, and strengthening the community’s own capacity,” Thien Chi Center considers community health training one of the key foundations for sustainable community development. In addition to organizing regular training sessions, the Center integrates health education into its livelihood, child education, nutrition, and family development programs. Through these activities, people not only gain knowledge but also develop proactive habits for protecting and improving their health.

This direct interaction is especially meaningful for rural communities and disadvantaged households. It serves as a bridge that transforms professional medical knowledge into simple, practical actions that are easy to understand and suitable for each family’s circumstances.

In an era when information can spread within seconds, the true value of community health training lies not in providing more information, but in helping people understand correctly, act appropriately, and work together to build healthier communities. As a long-term partner of local people, Thien Chi Center will continue to maintain and innovate its community health training activities, contributing to better quality of life and a stronger foundation for sustainable local development.
