SECOND GATHERING OF THE STUDENT EDUCATION LOAN GROUP: NURTURING GRATITUDE – PLANTING THE SEEDS OF DREAMS

In early June, Thien Chi Center organized the second gathering for students participating in its education loan program. The meeting provided an opportunity for students to reflect on their academic journey, share the challenges and successes they have experienced, and encourage one another to continue striving toward their educational goals.

In addition to discussions about their studies, the students participated in a training session on the theme of "Gratitude." Through interactive activities and group discussions, they reflected on their personal growth and recognized the kindness and support they have received from their families, teachers, friends, and the wider community. The session also helped them better understand the meaning of gratitude, the values that shape it, and practical ways to express appreciation in everyday life.

A highlight of the program was the "Gratitude Tree" activity. Each part of the tree carried a special meaning: the roots represented the people they are grateful for; the trunk symbolized the love, care, and support they have received; while the leaves and fruits reflected their dreams, aspirations, and future goals. Through this activity, the students realized that their achievements today and their hopes for tomorrow are rooted in the love, encouragement, and support of many people around them.

At the end of the gathering, the students put gratitude into practice through meaningful actions. Many called or sent messages to their parents to express heartfelt thanks for their quiet sacrifices. They also wrote letters to themselves, acknowledging their perseverance, determination, and efforts in overcoming challenges to continue pursuing their education.

The gathering concluded in a warm and emotional atmosphere. More than simply a chance to connect and discuss their studies, it helped nurture positive values, encouraging students to appreciate what they have, openly express gratitude, and continue pursuing their dreams with confidence. Thien Chi Center believes that a grateful heart gives people the strength to learn, grow, and spread kindness throughout the community.
