Training on Drowning Prevention and Installing Warning Signs at Beaches, Ponds, and Lakes

For over 15 years, Thiện Chí Center has been tirelessly working in Hàm Thuận Nam District with the goal of improving the quality of life and ensuring the safety of the community. However, during this time, the center has witnessed many heartbreaking stories of impoverished families who, in their struggle to make a living, leave their children home alone. These unsupervised children often wander off to nearby ponds and lakes, leading to tragic accidents where they drown.

Occasionally, the center revisits these families and sees the children's pictures on altars, feeling a deep, lingering sorrow. The faces of their relatives still bear the lasting pain, a reminder of their profound loss. These tragedies are not only the pain of each family but also a concern for the entire community.

To address this situation, Thiện Chí Center has partnered with the Youth Union to organize numerous training sessions for volunteers and parents on drowning prevention. These sessions not only provide knowledge but also equip participants with practical skills to respond promptly in dangerous situations. Additionally, the center has placed warning signs in dangerous areas around beaches, ponds, lakes, and deep streams to alert everyone and prevent potential drowning accidents.

These efforts by Thiện Chí Center aim not only to ensure the safety of children but also to bring peace of mind to parents. By educating and raising awareness about water safety, the center hopes to prevent future tragedies and create a safer living environment for the community.

Thiện Chí Center believes that with the collective effort of the whole society, we can protect and provide a better life for children—the future of the nation. The practical actions of the center have been contributing to building a strong community where every child is loved and protected.
