Community's health programs

Health issues are one of the main causes of poverty, and many poor families cannot afford medical exams. They often only go to the hospital when their illnesses have become serious, and treatment costs are very high. To cover these expenses, they must borrow money from relatives or from moneylenders with high interest rates.

The Thiện Chí programs for community health aim to spread awareness about a variety of health topics, such as domestic violence, common diseases, and environmental protection. These consist of trainings delivered by professionals in the health field.

In addition to providing loans to support economic development, Thiện Chí also runs programs to improve community awareness through training:

  • Health awareness: Topics include common diseases such as breast cancer, respiratory conditions, and seasonal illnesses. Each year, over 500 people participate, with the impact reaching even further as participants share their knowledge within their communities.

  • Medical support: One of the most direct ways to help families is by covering medical expenses or health insurance, which are often unaffordable. Thiện Chí can step in alongside government support and also launches online crowdfunding campaigns to assist families in urgent need.

  • Women’s Health and Rights: Thiện Chí also works to empower women by focusing on their health and access to essential services. Through legal aid sessions and community trainings, more than 300 women each year receive guidance on their rights, healthcare, and protection from issues such as domestic violence. By providing knowledge and tools, the program helps women strengthen their role within their families and communities, ensuring they can seek medical care, defend their rights, and build safer lives for themselves and their children.
