Future for you #72 Văn Thị Hải Duyên

Văn Thị Hải Duyên, born in 2014, is currently a 6th-grade student in Tân Thuận commune. Her family is listed as a poor household. After her parents divorced, her mother took custody of her youngest brother, while Duyên and her older sister, Văn Thị Thanh Trúc (born in 2012), stayed with their father.

The three of them now live in a small house of less than 50 square meters, with old tin walls, a leaky roof, and a cracked cement floor. There is no furniture of value—no wardrobe, no desk. The girls study on a wooden plank placed on the floor.

Their father, Văn Hữu Vũ Dương (born in 1986), is the sole provider for the family. He suffers from spinal degeneration, which has caused muscle atrophy in one leg, making it very difficult for him to walk. Due to his condition, he can only do light work such as delivering goods for a local hardware store, earning between 2 to 4 million VND per month depending on the workload.

The family owns 500 dragon fruit plants, but due to a lack of capital and the father's poor health, they can only harvest once or twice a year. The fruits are often infected with fungus and sell for little.

The new school year brings many burdens—textbooks, uniforms, extra classes—which make it increasingly difficult for Duyên and her sister to stay in school. We sincerely hope that kind-hearted sponsors can support them with 300,000 VND per month so the girls can continue their education and work toward a brighter future.
