Nguyễn Thị Yến Nhung (born 2008) lives with her family along the national highway in Lập Sơn Hamlet, Tân Lập Commune, Lâm Đồng Province. Her family is classified as near-poor. When Nhung was just one year old, her mother left, leaving three daughters to be raised by their father alone. Her father, Mr. Nguyễn Hùng Sinh (born 1970), has since worked tirelessly as a laborer to provide for his children’s education.
The eldest sister, Yến Nhi, is now married. The second sister, Yến Như, is currently a second-year student at Văn Hiến University in Ho Chi Minh City, with tuition and living expenses of nearly 40 million VND per year, plus around 4 million VND per month for food and rent. Nhung, now a 12th grader, needs about 550,000 VND per month for extra classes.
All expenses weigh heavily on their father. Every day, Mr. Sinh works at a brick kiln from 2 a.m. until 10 a.m., earning about 280,000 VND per day, before rushing home to care for 500 dragon fruit trees. However, farming requires heavy investment, while unstable prices bring little return. Despite suffering from hand tremors, he dares not seek medical treatment, fearing that if he falls ill, there will be no one left to care for his children.
The family has already borrowed 80 million VND in student loans to cover Yến Như’s education. Life is extremely difficult, yet the children remain diligent and determined to study. To help ease the burden on their father, we sincerely appeal for kind-hearted support to provide Nhung with 300,000 VND per month, giving her the strength and opportunity to continue her education.
