Thien Chi truly wishes to share the compelling case of our family, the Vo Doan Yen Nhu family. Thien Chi hopes that this letter will generate interest and support from everyone to help little Yen Nhu receive a scholarship, enabling her to have a brighter future.
Yen Nhu's family consists of four members. She lives with her mother and Chiều, who is currently her stepfather. They also have a younger brother who lives in Nam Tan Quarter, Thuan Nam Town. Yen Nhu is currently in the 4th grade at Thuan Nam 1 Elementary School.
Due to financial difficulties faced by Chiều's family (Yen Nhu's stepfather), they have had to temporarily set up a small, 15-square-meter room next to the in-laws' house. The room has a concrete floor, walls made of metal sheets, and minimal furnishings, with only a small mattress for sleeping. The family primarily relies on a 120-strong dragon fruit plantation for income. Yen Nhu's mother takes care of the dragon fruit plants while also working as a laborer to earn a living to support the family and the children's education.
Eight years ago, Chiều (Yen Nhu's stepfather) had a traffic accident upon returning from work. The medical expenses and medication cost the family 400 million VND. They had to borrow money from relatives and take out a 50-million-VND bank loan. Chiều's parents are also facing financial hardship. Chiều's father is in the late stage of cancer, and his mother has a herniated disc, making it difficult for them to provide substantial support to Chiều's family. Currently, Chiều is paralyzed in his left arm and has weakened right leg, preventing him from performing any significant work, leaving him with light household chores.
In light of this difficult situation, we hope to receive support from compassionate individuals to help the family overcome these hardships and ensure that Yen Nhu can continue her education by providing her with a scholarship.
