Environment and fruit trees

Thien Chi Center in Đức Linh district, Bình Thuận province, has conducted a survey and selected eligible households to support fruit tree planting for poor families. This program aims to encourage the community to collectively create a greener environment.

Thien Chi provides financial assistance for the initial purchase of fruit tree saplings and also offers financial support for tree care after one year of planting. If 80% of the trees in a household survive, they receive a care fee of 50,000 VND.

With a focus on sustainability, community participation, and expansion, households participating in the project have committed to supporting the project by providing 50% of the initial saplings received to other households in their local area after three years of cultivation.

In August 2022, the project supported 31 households in the region with a total of 300 fruit trees, including pomelo, apple, jackfruit, longan, rambutan, lychee, and soursop, in various communes such as Vũ Hòa, Đức Hạnh, Mê Pu, Trà Tân, Đông Hà, and Võ Xu.

After a year of tree planting and care, the survival rate of the trees is currently at 87% of the total number of initially planted trees. Some households have already begun to harvest fruits, and they express their gratitude for the project's support. This program has created a cooler and greener environment, improved the surroundings, and contributed to the economic well-being of these families.
