With the aim of promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly agriculture while reducing input costs for local farmers, the Thien Chi Center has implemented a cattle manure composting initiative combined with biological additives and biochar. The project has also begun applying organic fertilizer products on a pilot basis to several farming households in the area.
The activity focuses on making use of locally available cattle manure and guiding farmers through proper composting techniques. Biological additives are incorporated to support the decomposition of organic matter, reduce odors, and improve fertilizer quality. The addition of biochar during the composting process is expected to help improve soil structure, enhance moisture retention, and support beneficial soil microorganisms.

After completing the first compost batches, the Center has started applying the organic fertilizer to selected farming households in order to monitor its use and observe potential changes over time. At this initial stage, no evaluation or conclusions regarding the effectiveness of the model have been made.
Through this pilot initiative, the Thien Chi Center aims to create a foundation for farmers to become familiar with organic fertilizer–based cultivation methods, gradually reduce dependence on chemical fertilizers, and raise environmental awareness.
In the coming period, the Center will continue to monitor the application process, provide technical support to participating households, and progressively compile and assess results as a basis for adjustment and potential expansion of the model when conditions allow.
