Tobacco use is one of the leading causes of many serious diseases, including lung cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and respiratory illnesses. Smoking not only harms smokers themselves but also affects those around them through secondhand smoke, especially children and pregnant women. In addition, new-generation tobacco products such as e-cigarettes and heated tobacco products are becoming increasingly popular among young people, posing new challenges to public health.

In response to World No Tobacco Day on May 31 and the National No Tobacco Week 2026, from May 25 to May 31, 2026, Thien Chi Center collaborated with Ham Minh Secondary School and the local Youth Union to organize workshops, awareness sessions, and discussions for nearly 700 students and young people.

Through these activities, participants gained a better understanding of the harmful effects of tobacco and nicotine products, learned how to protect their health, and were encouraged to adopt healthy lifestyles free from tobacco. The program also helped spread the message of building a healthier, safer, and smoke-free environment for everyone. By educating young people today, we contribute to creating a healthier community for future generations.
